Joseph Mier & Associates was established in 1999 as a single appraiser firm. We have grown to a team of 4 appraisers and office staff to serve our clients. Our firm has completed thousands of appraisals over the last 19 years in the Northshore region and enjoy assisting our clients in meeting their appraisal needs. We stay up to date on technology to make sure that we are efficient and as accurate as possible in reviewing all data available.

About Joseph "Joe" Mier
Joseph “Joe” Mier is married to Elaine Mier. They have 3 children and 8 grandchildren and call Hammond, Louisiana home.
Joe is a licensed realtor, President of the Louisiana Real Estate Appraisers Coalitions, and President of the Hammond Area Economic and Industrial Development Foundation.
He serves on the Governmental Affairs Team for the Northshore Homebuilders Association and has also achieved the RAA Designation provided by the National Association of Realtors which is the appraisal Designation as a Residential Accredited Appraiser.
Joe shares his knowledge on a regular basis with industry partners such as yourself and other industry related partners.
Service to the community
Joe believes in being an active member of the community and is a member of The Mission Community Church, He has served on a number of local agency boards such as:
- Options: serving adults with disabilities for over 10 years as a board member and chairman of the construction committee that built “Safe Haven” which is a hurricane evacuation building for adults with disabilities
- Past President of the Hammond Rotary club
- Past President of the Louisiana Children’s Discovery Museum
- Vice President of the Hammond Area Economic & Industrial Development District
- President of the Tangipahoa Parish Economic Development Foundation
- A member of the Tangipahoa Homebuilders Association now Northshore Homebuilders where he has served as the Membership Chairman and Associate Chairman
- Serve on the board for the Tangipahoa Parish Council on Aging
- Chairman of the Governmental Affairs committee for the Hammond Chamber of Commerce
- Member of The Northshore Area Board of Realtors
As President of the Hammond Rotary Club, he led the renovation projects for the Council on Aging buildings in Hammond and Kentwood and help procure over $75,000 in renovations at no cost to the Council on Aging organization.
He also started a program that goes into area schools and helps to educate 8th-grade students on real-life decision-making skills such as why it is so important for them to graduate high school and extend their education beyond high school.
During the recent flooding on the Northshore area, Joe helped organized 2 neighborhoods with sandbagging operations to assist people in protecting their homes from rising waters.
Joe believes that everyone should be engaged in serving their community. When he is not volunteering or serving in the community, he enjoys time with his wife Elaine, their children, traveling, visiting with friends and fishing.
