Joseph Mier & Associates: Using Technology to Improve Your Customer Experience
Here at Joseph Mier & Associates, we always try to be on the forefront of appraisal technology. We use the best and newest technology at our disposal to bring you high quality, accurate appraisals.
The appraisal process has rapidly evolved in recent years and most would say, it's a lot more demanding than in the past. We put quality first, but we know that turnaround time is a big concern since nobody likes to wait for results. So, the logical place to save time is in our daily workflow. We strive to be the very best, and we've found that keeping up with new technology allows us to provide more credible reports in less time and excellent customer service.
Innovating the Ordering Experience
Way back when, most of our orders arrived via fax and were confirmed with phone calls once we got back into the office. It might be hours before a client even knew if we could do the order. These days, when orders are entered on this website, we receive an e-mail on our phones. We often log into this site from the field and send back an e-mail confirmation – including the time and date for the inspection if we've been able to talk to the occupant.
Joseph Mier & Associates understands that real estate is all about timeliness. We don't make you wait around for replies because we understand the speed at which we get things done directly effects your bottom-line. Through features on this website, we can actually speed up the entire appraisal process.
Data Gathering Tools
Gathering the data for an appraisal is a demanding process. We spend quite a bit of time obtaining the facts on the subject property and the local market data and trends. Once again, technology has stepped in to help Joseph Mier & Associates.
Instead of using paper forms and pencils and then re-keying all the information back at the office, don't be surprised to see us with a tablet PC or collecting data using a program written for our phones that even lets us sketch a floorplan right on site. Rather than using that clumsy old tape measure, more and more appraisers are utilizing laser measuring devices that are quicker, more accurate, and can get into places that normal tape measures have always had problems with.
Using this technology allows us to ensure that your report is on the money. This works to both our advantages by requiring less time for call-backs and revisions. A real money saver for busy appraisal clients.
Here at Joseph Mier & Associates we want you to know you have ample options to receive your report.
Delivery of appraisals as PDF files through e-mail is definitely the standard these days. Generally our clients are most familiar with receiving PDFs attached to their e-mail. It's much more efficient than the old days before e-mail. But, we've even been able to improve on e-mail with report delivery with this website.
Everyone knows how frustrating it is to lose a file. Or have you ever had an attachment blocked because of the file size? We have the technology to overcome those problems, too. When we deliver an appraisal through this website, the client is e-mailed a download link to retrieve the PDF. By bypassing email completely we can get around any problems caused by file size. And the best thing is that the file will be hosted on this site for 90 days. So if you lose the file, you can log back in here and retrieve it again without even calling us or waiting for us to get to a computer so we can send it again.
Digital Workfile Technology
It would be great if appraisers could never have to think about an assignment again after writing and giving it to the client. But one of the purposes of an appraisal is as a legal document outlining the condition of a property on a specific date. Therefore, appraisers need to keep their reports for 5 years in case any disputes or other matters arise regarding the property.
Here again, Joseph Mier & Associates uses all the technology at our disposal technology to improve service. We store every part of the appraisal - notes, sketches, supporting documentation and calculations - along with the appraisal electronically, we can pull up the entire file whenever it's needed and recall exactly what that job was about.
These are just a few examples of how we use technology daily. Utilizing the right software, services, gadgets and gizmos allows the appraiser to collect the appraisal data to finish the report faster and more accurately than previously possible.
